Tim's right it is cheap to buy books through Amazon but something tells me their buying power gets them different deals on postage than you would get if you rocked up to the post office, or even Fed Ex, with your case of Dr Pepper. I imagine that would be similar to me when I visit the US and buy dozens of books which I then have to get home. Often I ship a large box of them home and it's never cost me less than $200. You have no such thing as sea mail or surface mail any more which is why it's so expensive.

Gotta agree with Bernadette about the Dr Pepper but I disagree about the books.

I regularly get books from amazon.com shipped to Australia and find that with our dollar high it works out a lot cheaper even with the postage (which for a small text book might be 10-15 US dollars). The books have always arrived quickly (about 2-3 weeks) and as promised. One example is an audiology textbook that I bought from Amazon. In Australia it would have been $110 Australian. I bought it on Amazon and it cost about $70 Australian including postage.

Books are just crazily priced in Australia (particularly the less popular books).

Great show. It is a big adjustment having a new family member. Just take your time with the show and do it when you can.

Kind Regards,
Tim

No long diatribes this week. Promise.

Posting Dr Pepper to Australia will be prohibitively expensive - posting books costs A LOT (usually double the price of the book) and soda cans weigh a tonne. Besides it's an awful drink and we're trying to eradicate it from our island :)

I love Oscar Wilde. So does Stephen Fry and in episode 3 of his podcast he gives a great summation of why Wilde was so fabulous http://www.stephenfry.com/podcasts/. It's worth a listen (I also love Stephen Fry).

Now I must go kill myself as I like neither comics nor games and, apparently, have no reason to live.

Bye.
