Episode 53 of Upon Further Review!

We’ve returned once again, and it’s time to ring in the new year with Episode 53 of Upon Further Review!  In this episode we shock the world in revealing our New Year’s resolutions (okay, it’s not that shocking, but it is revealing!) and warn iWin of our displeasure with their latest action before moving on to the heart of the show:  first, we ask how big a scam artist you have to be to get in trouble for it with our review of vanity presses; second, we hook up our bounty hunter gear and blast off as we look at the Nintendo Wii game Metroid Prime III:  Corruption; and finally, we get all hip and musical (so to speak) with our take on The Stuart Bedasso Show podcast.  As always, we really appreciate your ideas and comments, and as always, we hope you’ll spread the word so others can join the smartest group of listeners on the Internet!  (As usual, podsafe intro music is provided by Sharif (“You’re My Girl”), outro by David Henderson (“We Gotta Go”).)

Congratulations for having shows out before I can get to them! I must confess I prefer it this way to waiting for new shows to come out:)
Can’t hardly wait to hear the newest one!

    Very enjoyable show!
I especially liked the rant against Vanity Presses. It be better if they were just up-front with people.

It’s nice to see that you are putting the Wii to good use.

So, how do you rate the Hillary and Barak campaigns so far?
I thought Hillary crying would hurt her in NH, but she’s wily and pulled out a popular victory (even if she tied with Barak in terms of delegates). (I’d ask you about some of the republican candidates, but I’m pretty sure you’d give them zeros :p )

Thanks for the kind words, D.I….Greg probably talked entirely too much that episode, but he’s just been really irritated by the whole vanity press thing lately. As for the Hillary and Barack campaigns, we’re waiting for the dust to settle a bit there before commenting, but have been very interested in both primaries so far. Now if we were rating pollsters thus far, on the other hand… :)

On the Republican side, we might expect you to be a Ron Paul advocate…true?

Ron Paul is just a little bit too far out there for me. Around the time I read about some of his supporters getting in trouble for printing their own money with Ron Paul face on it, I gave up on Ron Paul in any serious capacity. I’d want to support someone who actually has a chance to be elected.
Thus far I’ve not been impressed with any candidate on the right side of the aisle. The only candidate I like is Obama, but only because I trust him so far.
(Perhaps I’m too cynical, but so far I don’t trust any of the other candidates would choose to do what’s right for America over doing what’s right for themselves. I hope by the time we get to the general election I can feel happy with whichever candidate wins.)

Hey, guys, just a little update. :) I managed to get a new job! I start right when I get back from my honeymoon early next month. Whew! That’s a load off my mind. Thanks for all the kind words of support! Keep up the great show!

  8. classic chris:

congratulations on the new job, Michael! I’m still searching for one myself, so if you have any suggestions :-)

(for some reason, G&C, I skipped this show, so I’ve got no comments about it yet… is the RSS working ok? Seems to have tanked for me…)
