Other than Monkey Gone to Heaven, never cared much for their style. Lots of other bands of the time and genre that were much more fun and interesting. When Black Francis went solo as Frank Black, he had a good hit or two, but still very much a one-hit wonder type of enterprise... One thing that you made me think about was the punk music phenomena when you talked about punk music today... it's really not the same as the "Decline and Fall of Western Civilization" punk rock, and it might never be -- just a function of the times, I think. Consider the music of Black Flag (REVIEW SUGGESTION: Henry Rollins -- not a family friendly topic, but in my opinion an important figure of our time, especially with his mastery of "spoken word" as an art form) and of course the Sex Pistols and others of the punk rock era... the times dictated the anarchist and rebellious spirit and today's Gen Y or Gen Y+ or whatever they're called just might not have the broad social, socio-economic and authoritarian structure to breed the angry, energetic punk that made its mark in the 70s and early 80s. Or maybe not. Just my opinion... (or is it?) And one more comment: you've reviewed Star Wars (and lots of Star Wars derivates) and war... REVIEW SUGGESTION: how about a review of stars to complete the transitive property of the theme? In astronomy news right now there's a comet streaking through the sky ("Comet Holmes") visible to the naked eye... astronomy . com has a weekly podcast... and in astrology, Pluto is moving out of Sagittarius after 13 years and it's apparently going to mean a major shake up worldwide, including US's loss of superpower status...
